How to care for your knife

Thank you for buying a knife that I made. All of my knives are made with high carbon steel and there are a few things that you need to know on how to care for your knife so that it will give you many years of service:

- Do NOT leave your knife wet or in the sink; It will rust very quickly.

- Do NOT put your knife in the dishwasher; Doing so will destroy the knife (the handle may come off, blade will rust and pit)

- Your knife will develop a patina (blue/grey color) on the blade as it is used; This is normal. It happens the most rapidly with foods that have acid in them (onions, citrus, tomato, and meats).

- To clean the knife use only soap and water. Dry it completely with a towel. A light coat of cooking oil may be applied, if the knife will be used infrequently.
